After submission by the authors, each manuscript undergoes an initial evaluation within a maximum of two weeks. If it passes the initial screening, it is forwarded to peer reviewers. Reviewers are given up to one month to complete the evaluation. In case of reviewer withdrawal or delay, an alternative reviewer will be assigned.
If the manuscript is not rejected during peer review, it is returned to the authors for revisions. Upon successful completion and approval of revisions, the manuscript is accepted for publication.
After submission through the journal system, the manuscript is first examined (within a maximum of one week) by the editorial staff to ensure compliance with the journal’s formatting and submission guidelines. Authors are strongly advised to carefully review the author guidelines before submission and prepare their manuscripts accordingly to expedite the review process.
If the manuscript passes the initial technical screening, it enters the second stage, where it is evaluated by the Editor-in-Chief for scientific quality, originality, and relevance to the journal scope. This stage typically takes approximately one week. At this point, authors may be requested to make preliminary revisions to improve the manuscript quality before it proceeds to peer review.
Once approved at this stage, the manuscript is sent to two independent expert reviewers. The peer review outcomes are handled as follows:
If both reviewers reject the manuscript, it is declined.
If both reviewers request major revisions, the manuscript is returned to the authors for substantial revision.
If one reviewer accepts or requests revisions and the other rejects, a third reviewer is assigned. The final decision is made based on the third reviewer’s evaluation, following the above decision rules.
After authors submit their revised manuscript, it is re-evaluated by the reviewers for comparative assessment.
Reviewers receive reminder emails every five days. If no review is completed within 30 days, the manuscript is withdrawn from the assigned reviewer and reassigned to a new one.
Depending on the extent of required revisions, reviewer feedback, and the authors’ responsiveness and accuracy in revisions, the total time to final acceptance is approximately three months, assuming a positive final decision from reviewers.
